This thorough design program will teach everything one needs to know to start designing their own page layouts, posters, packaging and ads. This course covers the universal theories, principles and elements of graphic design and how to put them into practice using Photoshop. Learn how to use line, shape, color, texture, space and form to create balance, tension, rhythm, proportion, and emphasis. The goal is to expand vocabulary and software experience while developing a final project of the student’s choice over 4 weeks. Class topics will include Composition, Typography, Compositing (layering and blending images) and Output Formatting (Image modes, color profiles, file-types, resolution and compression). This course is perfect for creative people who want to learn digital production as well as entrepreneurs who would like to design their own marketing materials. The projects will be presented at the end of the final class with a brief explanation of their purposes and the design choices that make them work.
