The 30 MW wind farm owned by Avangrid Renewables went online on December 29, 2017, despite a public uproar. The 15 turbines were manufactured by Siemens Gamesa, a company created earlier that year as the result of a merger between Spanish owned wind turbine manufacturer, Gamesa, and Siemens, a global force in automation engineering.
Despite the out-of-state ownership and foreign manufacturing, Black bear habitat, noise and aesthetics were and still are the topics of controversy.
